Customers across a broad range of industries benefit from the fully wrought, premium quality impact extruded parts that we supply at JLO Metal Products, Inc.. In the packaging industry, we work closely with valve and applicator manufacturers and with industrial paint, coating, and solvent solution providers to develop dispenser tubes that deliver the product to the consumer. Our strong partnership with each of these packaged goods manufacturers has enabled us to provide custom designed aluminum canisters for successive generations of applicator tube designs. Our partners enjoy a typical turnaround time of 8-10 weeks for first article samples of new projects. The initial production release will usually follow in 4-6 weeks after first article approval.

We also design, develop, and manufacture all of the specific tooling needed for each project in our own facility. This flexibility allows us to customize our aluminum tube offerings to each customer's specific requirements while keeping costs down. We provide packaging products in a variety of aluminum alloys, with features such as:

  • A beaded open end that provides a hard stop point for valve assembly and more rigidity at the tip of the applicator pen for the user
  • An overall length to OD ratio of 9:1, not achievable with other metal forming operations
  • A tight tolerance solid step base on the bottom of the tube that press fits with the plastic injection molded pen cap
  • A dual-chamber configuration with a solid core that eliminates the need for a separate sealed divider SKU, and therefore reduces costs associated with assembly, labor and inventory

All products are manufactured and trimmed to length in-house on horizontal impact extrusion presses and trimmers. Typical applicator tubes range from 0.500"OD to 1.000"OD with wall thicknesses beginning at 0.015". On a 0.563" OD tube, we can manufacture lengths of up to 5" in a single hit. Production rates for these parts reach in excess of 2,000 pph. All parts are cleaned with a 10% acid wash solution, inspected per print specifications, packaged, and shipped to the customer.

At JLO Metal Products, we manufacture all of our aluminum impact extrusions in accordance with ISO 9001:2008, ISO/TS 16949:2009, and ITAR requirements. We maintain stringent adherence to any additional packaging industry production standards identified as critical to our customers. We have established quality control measures that include incoming inspection of raw material, in-process inspection at each operation, and a thorough final inspection prior to shipment. Additional CMM measurements and SPC procedures can be employed as needed.
